Happy New Year to everyone, I wish you all the best in your personal goals this year!
Is fitness top of your priority list this year? If you answer yes to that question let’s be more specific….Is fitness the top of your priority list for the next 2 months? How many people around the globe do you think have vowed to get fit? The vast majority who have said that won’t even get started, most of the others who do get started will have stopped come March – don’t be another statistic! Are you not getting bored of setting targets and then failing? If anything else it is exactly that – boring. Ask yourself this very simple question, how many bodies do you own? Answer…1! Make the most of what you have, if you don’t use it you lose it.
When you are setting goals or new year resolutions be specific in when you want to achieve them by, as you work so much harder knowing the goal posts can not be shifted. If you know you need to have accomplished it by a certain date and even time then you are more likely to work harder in order to achieve it. A boxer has the date and time that he will be stepping into the ring in his head as he starts his training camp, he knows the exact and specific time he must be ready for. The benefit of this is the event isn’t going to move so you have to in order to be ready for it.
The vast majority of us will be feeling unhealthy and fat after the holiday period, motivation will be high right now so act upon it! Make it the year were you become the best version of you. If you put your mind to it and train smart think how well you can be looking and feeling come Christmas 2015. A six pack, bigger muscles, smaller waist, fitter, improved confidence can all be achieved if you choose to achieve it. The time is right, the time is now!
And not only with your health and fitness either. Plan your personal achievements you want to accomplish too, and also be specific with those. As I always say “set goals….then achieve them”. I was chatting with a lady yesterday and she explained how she did not want to be working where she was working this time next year. Now if she doesn’t want to be there this time next year is it safe to say she doesn’t want to be there now?
Do not do anything you don’t want to do – simple. If you don’t want to go to a party or event then don’t go. If you don’t want to work in a place that you don’t want to work then don’t work there. If you don’t want to see anybody anymore then don’t see them. As well as having one body, the same number applies to the question “How many lives to you get?” Answer…..1! So don’t live it the way someone else is telling you to live it because if you follow somebody else’s plan, instead of your own, you don’t know what they have got in store for you. Be in control of your own destiny and live a life you love.
Do more of what you love, do less of what you don’t and don’t let other peoples opinions of you count towards anything. How many people do you think have said “2015 is going to be my year”? Have you said it yourself? Well let’s make it happen, lets make actions speak louder than words and lets make 2015 the best year yet!
I wish you all the best in your personal and fitness goals. I would love to hear what they are and I would love to assist you in any way I can.
Best Wishes, Adam Corlett
